Follow the steps in the Outline Guide to transform the digital photo of your actor into a line drawing.
Once your line drawing of the actor is created, there are two ways to proceed. The simplest is to print out your actor sheet and use it as a
guide to draw costumes by hand. The image can then be scanned and returned to Photoshop for coloring. The other method, which creates an entirely digital image directly, is to draw the costume details using a graphics tablet, such as the Wacom Tablet.
For those who are just getting oriented we have the Tips for Beginners Guide
which addresses basics like undoing mistakes, magnifying view and working with layers.
MORE USES FOR THE LINE DRAWING:
Using the photograph of the actor’s face, we have created a simple, yet effective way to create an individualized Make-up Sheet
for each actor. The sheet can also be used as a guide for hair styling, hat making, or mask design. The line drawing technique is identical to the method illustrated in the Outline Guide.
